Protocol and Consent Title
XSEDE (eXtreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment) Evaluation: 2021 Campus Research Computing Consortium (CaRCC) Decadal Survey (Protocol #10033)
You are being asked to be a volunteer in a research study as a participant in an eXtreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE)-supported activity.
The purpose of the XSEDE-supported Campus Research Computing Consortium (CaRCC) Decadal Survey is to help forecast the development expected in the research cyberinfrastructure space in the coming decade.
If you decide to participate in this study, you will complete this anonymous survey in which you will be asked to share your views regarding the innovations and investments necessary for the research cyberinfrastructure field to thrive in the future. For most, this survey should take not more than 10 minutes to complete. Your participation is completely voluntary and you may stop at any time and for any reason without penalty. You are free to skip any question.
As with any study, there is a risk of loss of confidentiality.
We expect you to benefit from participation in this study through the dissemination of its results, which will provide guidance to thought leaders, policy makers, and funding agencies by identifying what innovations and investments are necessary for the field of research cyberinfrastructure to thrive in the future. Further, results may impact future programs and funding opportunities developed by the national cyberinfrastructure community.
To the extent allowed by law, efforts will be made to keep your personal information confidential. To protect your privacy, all names and any other identifying information reported will not be published or made public in any manner. Program leadership will not know about your decision to participate or not participate in our study. All evaluation data will be kept in a secure location, and will only be accessible to members of the evaluation team. To make sure that this research is being carried out in the proper way, the Indiana University IRB may review study records. The Office of Human Research Protections may also request access to study records during required reviews.
There is no compensation for participation in this study.
Other than your time, there is no cost for participation.
If you are injured as a result of being in this study, please contact Winona Snapp-Childs, Ph.D., at wsnappch@iu.edu. Neither the Principal Investigator nor Indiana University has made provision for payment of costs associated with any injury resulting from participation in this study.
Your participation in this study is voluntary. You have the right to revoke your consent and leave the study at any time without penalty. Any new information that may make you change your mind about being in this study will be given to you. You may print out a copy of this consent form to keep.
